Formed over 25 years ago by a group of parents and neighbours, the Lenzie Youth Club has gone from strength to strength.

Imagine the consternation and apprehension of Ian & Norma Stevenson, Chris Taylor, Linda Mackie and Gordon McLellan as, equipped with only a snooker table, one table tennis table, a football and an old radio over 200 youngsters turned up on opening night!! Proof, if any were needed, that the youth of Lenzie were very much in support of the idea of their own youth club.

Since that opening day, Lenzie Youth Club has grown both in the scope of their activities and the skills developed by the coaches, the youngsters themselves and the parent groups who admirably support us with their fund raising efforts and other help.

We have had a table tennis team coached by Moira Brown, pool team with Iain Hoey, a disco dance team taught by Tina Harrison and football teams for the under 9s to under 19 years, some of whom have gone on to play professionally in the Scottish and English leagues. The teams have visited Norway, Spain, Sweden, Denmark, France, Germany, Holland and all over England.

Now we are delighted to welcome back the kids and grandkids of past members and also welcome back past members to help coach and develop the next generations of youngsters.
